I've just activated my iphone4 (finally) and gots myself a whole new set of apps - yes some are calorie counters and booze intake counters (essentials!) but my favourite is Chic Feed, which takes pics from Lookbook.nu, FaceHunter, Jak and Jill, Cherry Blossom Girl and altamira and creates a photo feed.

It seems to have taken ages for H&M to launch an online store, its probably one of H&Ms best ideas as many of their shops are over crowded and don't showcase the products as well as they could.

Do you think the H&M x Lanvin collection will be online? It will be interesting to see how they deal with that - similar to Kate Moss for Topshop probably, which means waking up at the crack of dawn to log on.

Bleach London - opening tomorrow

Bleach London, a brand new hair salon collective is opening at WAH Nails tomorrow (Friday 24th September) run by Alex Brownsell who has been hearalded by LOVE Magazine as 'London’s premier crazy colour expert’. She has taken her HeartBreak Hair salon from her flat and out to the streets of Dalston.

Colours available include; Swampy, Blue Lagoon, White Knuckle, Cheeky Vimto, De ja Blue and Berocca Rinse, tells you that this is something that stands out against anything as boring as Blonde, and Brunette.

The time has come for HeartBreak Hair to move on. Two new(ish) proper hairdressing chairs have been installed in the back of Dalston’s finest salon, WAH. Posters will adorn the walls and you’ll walk out the door with a decent hair cut and a proper (well) colour, instead of having a tigers worth of cat hair on your clothes and a broken spine from leaning over the bath.

You may remember a couple being brutally attacked by a group of youths in 2007 because of their alternative style. Illamasqua have created a film to remember Sophie Lancaster, the girl who died that day.

I'll be the first to say that generally, I have gross nails, gross in the way that the varnish is either chipped, or the nails are stained from lashings of Chanel varnish which has been left on for too long.

When an invite went round for a mani with Marian Newman,who is a world renowned nail artist...if you dont believe me check out the below biog, I simply could not turn it down.

Her session work is a major part of Marian’s life, having become the name that famous photographer Nick Knight calls upon to do his Dior, Lancome and Vogue shoots. Working closely with Sam McKnight, Val Garland and many others, Marian now commands an unrivalled position in her industry and is one of the few top nail practitioners whose work is seen in glossy magazines around the world virtually every week. She has worked with most of the legendary photographers, including Mario Testino, David Bailey and Patrick Demarchelier.

Some career highlights in this field are over 50 British Vogue covers to her name (plus many 100’s covers and editorial stories) and 10 years of working on every advertising campaign for Christian Dior. More recently, she created the nails on all the ‘Interlude’ films for Lady Gaga’s Monster Tour.

I went for Wildfire Shellac nails, which to you and me is red nail varnish that with the aid of Shellac technology remains on your nails for 2-3 weeks. Shellac is half nail varnish / half gel and unlike BioGel doesn't damage your nails underneath.

My friend Sam also had Minx nails - in fact she had a prototype design which is unable as yet.

My sis just sent me a link to the Autumn Winter collection from Marks & Spencer with the subject 'Oh god', having squealed on opening the email, I came to two conclusions, one we're a pretty dramz pair and two the new collection from Marks & Spencer is stunning,

Today's Guardian investigates the new uber cool NYC trend...the comfy shoe. HOLD THE PHONE.

Shoe trends are predictable in their randomness. While the general tide of footwear fashion flows in one direction, there will always be one rebel shoe that heroically bucks the trend. It can be hard to predict what the style will be, but the unwritten rule is that it must be defiantly ugly and practical.

Right now, the Worishofer is that shoe. An orthopaedic demi-wedge with a cork sole born 70 years ago in the Bavarian spa town of Bad Wörishofen, it is currently enjoying popularity in the trendier enclaves of downtown Manhattan.

So are these about to take the baton from the UGG (gross) and the BIrkenstock (smelly) for the latest comfy IT shoe? I'd totally rock them.

The bad news? They arent available in the UK as yet, the good news? Chloe Sevigny and Maggie Gyllenhaal have worn them so there will be copies on the high street in...oh, a month?

My friend Franny introduced me to an NY band called Sleigh Bells a few months back, since then I havent had the album Treatz out of my ears. The Guardian describe them as the "Kylie and Jason of extreme noise terror" (amaze). Part riot grrrl part noise band the duo are playing the Lexington soon, alas its sold out so if anyone wants to sneak me in via their trenchcoat i'll gladly oblige.

Yep you heard, I lent my computer to a friend for three months but now its back! I did have a minor heart attack when it wouldnt switch on earlier but all's good in the hood.

It was my birthday on Monday and I was totally spoilt as usual (yesss), finally got my hands on - or got on my hand - a Dominic Jones ring, now I understand those programmes on Channel 5 about being in love with inanimate objects, probably not going to touch in inappropriately though. Its the one on the bottom fyi.

Antipodium, I think I love you

I don't think I have ever seen anyone persevere more with Asos.com than the lovely lady I sit next to at work. Having seen a pair of Antipodium shorts in a recent Observer Magazine she tracked them down on Asos.com and stalked the site until they came back into stock....it took three weeks, but now they are on their way and she's going to have kittens when they arrive!

This is what I most love about fashion, seeing something and knowing it has to be yours because said item is the most amazing thing you have ever seen.

Taking her lead, I decided to check out the Antipodium stock on asos and it is simply delicious, here are some things I want - including the shorts - which I think I'll give a miss to avoid any work fights!

I have posted about other people selling stuff on eBay before and hope that has been useful! Now, I'm selling some bits that I have never worn and have been too rubbish to return to the shops (I know, seriously!). So at the moment there are only two things up on the page, which are:

Smack underwear grey spandex dress - did someone say Underwear as Outerwear? Yep. This is a seriously, seriously amazing dress but again just doesn't fit me.It fits like a medium and the cup size is around a B/C I would have though - although my eye judging is not as good as the Rigby and Peller lady who can fit me in a blink of an eye. So good for summer.

Acne extreme stripe jersey dress in black and white size Medium - I'm 5 foot 4 and this is just far too long and slightly too big on the waist but it is GORGEOUS and the only reason I haven't returned it is because they have sold out of size Small.

I'm going to add more stuff soon - need to get the camera out and get uploading. So keep coming back and if you like what you see above then please bid as I need more clothes and the only object is cold hard cash : )

I love Springwise - the trends mailout I get every week - mainly because the items included are really clever.

Today they feature an article about a brand new fashion forecasting App called Trendstop. I love an App too, only today I downloaded one that counts all of the calories I eat in a day - yeah, its not nice!

Trend forecasters can charge a lot of money for yearly predictions (around $4000 a year for analysis) Trendstop now have a free iPhone (Android and Blackberry) App which lets you monitor the latest looks from catwalks and the like. According to Springwise:

Coverage includes daily trend reports, news and photos from fashion shows from around the world, and runway schedules and event guides.

I'm really keen to see some more exhibitions, so when I read about the brand new David James 'Out of Print' exhibition I just had to drop it in a post. The former AnOther Man and current AnOther creative director has put together this digital exhibition - Exhibiting mixed media works by acclaimed creative director David James in chronological order, the show illustrates a considered engagement with technology within James’s design practice, particularly in relation to the fashion advertising campaigns for Prada.

From what I can gather this is an interesting look at how advertising has evolved to catch up with digital innovations - hence why the exhibition is a limited oeriod web based show:

“As digital media becomes the dominant media, I want this exhibition to mark the beginning of a new way of working for the studio. Our practice is no longer focused on two-dimensional representations, but all possible dimensions” – David James

The McQueen campaign will be featured as well as Dior and Prada work click here to take a look the show opens March 16 and closes on 1st May 2010

Twitter was on fire with Viktor & Rolf tweets, model Kristen McMenary walked out onto the catwalk wearing layers of clothing which were three times her body weight. Viktor & Rolf then came onstage to remove one piece of clothing at a time, dressing other models in the individual items.

Kristen was stripped down to her nude bodysuit and V&R started the process again.

"This time around, we want to show that something can be both wearable and extreme at the same time. It goes beyond a mere idea; it is literally ready for production."

Today's online NYFW observation is about Thakoon, who I hadn't heard of until I watched The September Issue - i'll freely admit it.

There was more fur on the catwalk than you could shake a stick at, so that should make Wintour happy. This collection sees Thakoon taking a brave stride into the cool kids club, with his previously romantic collections being over shadowed by bold statements in fur and yep, velvet.

Wang lust

So Alexander Wang hit NYFW last night (UK time), a show that was highly anticipated by fashion journalists and fans the world over. I, like anyone else who found themselves in on a Saturday night, caught the whole show as it was live streamed on Show Studio - cue nasal tones to my boyfriend "please may I watch the Wang show streamed liiiiiive?" It worked and I was enraptured.

Wang said the collection was about "growing up, about progress", Style.com's Meenal Mistry called it "more precise, less street chic manner, slicing away extraneous elements". Fabrics included leather, velvet, beading and sheer. Dresses were gloriously draped, knitwear was chunky and modelled by Agyness, heels were also v chunky and layering was still very much in the picture Oh...and now backpacks are well and truly back, FYI, Wang co-signed that.

The front row featured Geldofs, Hollands, Tavis and many a New York hipster as well as le grand dame Anna Wintour.

Former Chloe designer Phoebe Philo unveiled her first collection for Celine last year to much critical acclaim, as you can see from the photos key pieces include leather t shirt and muted colours as well as some killer open toe wedge.

Susy Menkes from the Telegraph says:
After a four-year maternity break, Philo has had time to gain clarity about what’s missing from fashion: solid tailoring, fantastic coats, well-cut trousers, a way of no-fuss dressing that exudes dignified good taste, and makes a woman feel sorted and sexy with it.

Menkes goes onto inform us that the prices at Celine have now gone into the 'luxury' bracket ie not affordable in the slightest!

Luckily, Banan Republic have created a fab collection for ss10 which features muted tones, an interesting take on the trench coat, denim shirts and open toe wedges which each item coming in at less than £100. New York Fashion Week

It's New York Fashion Week, so let's start with Preen and hold our breaths in excitement about Wang showing in a mere few hours.

Both Hilary Alexander from the Telegraph and Meenal Mistry from Style.com have praised Preen's show as a great turning point for the brand who have been relying on the body con dress for quite a few seasons now. Today's show saw Preen introduce masculine tailoring into their range as they collaborated with womenswear label Gieves & Hawkes.

Quote from style.com:
But let's not call these "boyfriend" pieces; "husband" seems more appropriate. The designers softened the harder edges with airily sophisticated silk and cashmere dresses, along with cocoon coats so cocoon-y you could spend an entire winter in them, especially if you are lucky enough to have one in fur cleverly cut to look like croc.

The boy got invited to the Percival Menswear launch this week so we popped along, I dont write about menswear on the blog much, because I'm a girl and don't buy it.

The day job requires me to purchase a new dress as I am going to be working at the BAFTAs next Sunday night. Any excuse to buy a new dress is a good one, but I have to say that this particular event has brought up a bit of a dilemma....

My instant reaction was to check out Acne, because in my dreams my wardrobe is filled with Acne clothes (also in my dreams my body has shrunk a bit so I look amazing in them). I picked out the Wise Leo chiffon dress from Net A Porter but it was deemed too short for a glitzy ceremony where I'll be running about like a mad thing before sitting down to eat. (Wise Leo you may not be right this time but I have my eye on youuuu).

My bank balance conscience then kicked in and having seen the Polka Dot Taffeta Heart dress from Boohoo was only £20 I did have a think about getting that one and being done with the whole thing.

My boyfriend persuaded me against this option saying that I should get an investment piece - uh oh!

Next stop Libertys where I fell in love with clothes all over again after letting myself wander through the Acne, Twenty8Twelve and Marc by Marc Jacobs collections. I just can't help being drawn to all clothes of a Swedish origin at the moment, its like some sort of addiction. First Acne, then Karin Wester and now Rika. I have to thank my friend Steve for drawing my attention to the label as he has just created the rather fabulous new website for Shop At Bluebird -who stock the brand. So here's a bit of background, Rika is actually Ulrika Lundgren who was previously an interior stylist for the likes of Elle Deco and Casa Vogue.

After an epiphany in Morocco - all I got there was food poisoning, gut - she has started to create bags and a clothes line, of which the likes of Carine Roitfeld and Alexa Chung are big fans.

All of the material used for the bags is handcrafted, chemical free leather and canvas. She's a rock chick at heart and regularly teams leopard print cashmere with biker jackets.

For that reason she gets two thumbs up from me, and probably some of my spending money.

I don't know what has happened to me, one minute I was nursing a hangover at work, the next minute I'm in the bath reading Grazia thinking about exfoliating. WHAT A GIRL, anyway, now the night is getting progressively more girly as I sit in my pyjamas watching Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist with a Dyptique for company.

So anyway, the film reminds me of my massive girl crush on Kat Dennings, the 22 year old actress who started her career in Sex & the City as a rich jewish girl who employed Samantha to PR her bar mitzvah - I didnt see that actually. Kat has been a blogger since 2001, she doesnt smoke, drink or take drugs or have a boyfriend. By rights, she shouldn't be someone I think is super cool.

She looks loads like Daisy Lowe and worships at the temple of the red lipstick, much like myself plus we have the same Agent Provocateur body, this means we can be friends right?

Did I mention she's pretty funny too?

Summer Camp - Obsessed with this band

Summer Camp are a new pretty anonymous band that have been causing a stir amongst those in the know. They are a boy girl duo who sound a bit like Chairlift but better, there are no pictures of them on their myspace which you can find under the mysteriously named www.myspace.com/morganwaves myspace site.

The Guardian say:

They're as slippery as they are seemingly shy, this Summer Camp pair. They fit in or flit in and out of various categories: the new surf-rock of the Drums, the C86-ish indie-pop of Pains of Being Pure at Heart, the girl group revivalism of Vivian Girls ... There are elements in their lush lo-fi moments of chillwave, with some of the crackly intimacy of Perfume Genius. "If Washed Out offer the comedown from the utopian gauzy beach party," wrote one blogger, "then Summer Camp are the band who played the prom the night before, peppier than their morning-after bedfellows."

They love synth pop and so do I so I'll be keeping a close eye on their developments, I suggest you do too. Moshi Moshi will be releasing their debut single in March.

So, I personally wear Jimmy Choo's 247, oh hang on a minute THAT WAS A DREAM. I'm not usually a fan of Jimmy Choo's as they remind me too much of the faux adoration amongst Sex & The City fans. Harsh? True!

I know I often update you all about my love for Pixie Market, well, I'm only going to do it again - please turn away if you don't like gratuitous PM praise.

The mailout never fails to catch my eye, today they have led with the 'Chunky Hoodie Knit', however, after my splurge in the Carin Wester online store I can't really justify buying yet another chunky knit - sad but true!

Lots of the clothes in the Pixie Market online store sells out pretty quickly, one garment that is yet to sell out (watch this space) is the Elohim by Sabrina Goh Zipper Knee Pants, which look fabulous and are made from stretch jersey.

Its the styling on Pixie Market which really makes the clothes stand out, very New York - the store is on Stanton Street in NYC - the girl are impeccably accessorised, styled and coiffed.

There we go, no more PM for a while, I promise.

Observer Woman (RIP) were bigging up Carin Wester as 'the new Acne' in this weekend's edition. I was reading the mag in bed last night and started googling on my iPhone from my pillow.

Of course, by now I have bought a piece. A small selection of her clothes are on sale at Urban Outfitters website. However, she currently has a 50% off sale on her own site www.carinwester.com which I really recommend. I picked up the Katrin sweater from the above picture and CANNOT WAIT for it to arrive. Prices are in SEK which is Swedish Krona so don't be put off when you see the large numbers, I used .xe to convert the currency to GBP and the prices have proved a steal.

As for Men In Women's Clothes, trendhunter.com has been spotting some Japanese chaps in dresses last Autumn, as for Socks On Show, I love this one but more on boys than girls. Indoor leathers - apparently Phoebe Phile has designed a sexy black leather t shirt, WANT. Nostalgic bling? Glad I got my Moschino from eBay early.

Paris, Paris

I have been asked to write about my ideal weekend in Le Nouveau Paris based on the theme 'You, Me and Paris' or 'Toi, Moi et Paris' if we're being proper.

My boyfriend and I first went to Paris when we were both at University, he was studying in London whilst I was in Manchester so weekends were the only times we could see each other, it meant we spent a lot of money on trains and our weeks were filled with long phone calls and cheap nights out with our respective uni friends. We decided that Paris would be a perfect place to visit, after all it took the same amount of time on the train as it does to get from Manchester or London. We were both desperate to go to the cult fashion concept store Collette where I could stock up on international fashion magazines and ogle Marc Jacobs clothes that I couldn't dream of ever buying. We saw an exhibition in the Pompidou by artist Sophie Calle, one of the boyf's favourite artists and then made a super eight film of me under the Eiffel Tower which I hope, if we ever get married, to project on the wall.

However, that was then and this, is very much now. My perfect weekend in Paris would start with a stay in Mama Shelter, a hotel designed by Phillippe Starck ( I fell in love with him on the BBC show Design for Life) and a hotel I have kept my eye on since hearing about it a couple of years ago. Each room has an iMac television and Kiehl's toiletries. Mama Shelter is a stones throw from the music venue Fleche D'Or, which is where our friend's band played to (I wasn't there, but have seen a video) rapturous applause after a video my boyfriend made for them was played on French television the night before. So Fleche D'Or would be an obvious stop for some late night music and partying. Before then it would be a mission of ours to find the restaurant called Grizzli Cafe which had graffiti'd toilet doors and my boyfriend added to by carving SC (him) 4 HF (me) onto one of the doors - we're not usually taken to destruction!

If we didn't make it to Fleche D'Or I would check out Paris Paris, another renowned music venue which I have heard a lot about or Le Regine where London's premium fashion pack clubnight Ponystep used to reside when the promoter Richard Mortimer was in Paris.

During the day I would head to the area around the Pompidou where there apparently are some of Paris' best vintage shops before heading to Collette again for old times sake. Then follow this with a wander down the Champs Elysees to see some of the great design houses flagship stores before heading to the Eiffel Tower, sampling some of Paris' fabulous truffles on the way - it would be sacriledge not to head to Laduree, Paris' famous patisserie which sells world famous macaroons and petit fours. You may remember they had a pop up store at Topshop around London Fashion Week in September and are fashion's favourite naughty treats.

It would be laden with shopping bags that we would make our way back to the Eurostar after our second trip to Paris, with even more memories under our belts (and lots of Laduree macaroons!)

Best weekend ever? It certainly would be.

New Look Press Day

I have been speaking to the lovely Daniel and Helen from the New Look online press office about the Idol range and the brand's upcoming collections. I was delighted to be invited to the New Look SS10 Press Day last Thursday, the atmosphere was really relaxed and the clothes were displayed in an easy to view way.

I am not a fashion journalist, so going to these press days can sometimes be intimidating but not this one, which I was grateful for!

So I took some terrible pictures on my iPhone, but Daniel assures me that the electronic press kit will be available soon so I can post some better images, however I did want to share some trends coming through for SS10, so here goes!

Idol
The clothes at Idol were, again, more rock and roll with lots of dark colours and embellishment so don't throw out your studs in Spring because they will be around for a while yet. There will be more Idol piccies posted in the different trends section, however, below is an idea of the direction their accessories and shoes are going in

Aren't these boots great? The highest bag is a homage to the Miu Miu studded pouch bag that is currently very popular (and v expensive!) So yeah, these are all on the list!

Maxi
There were a few maxi dresses on show but this was by far my favourite, it reminds me of a global hypercolour dress my sister had in the nineties - not sure I'd team it with that bolero but you get the drift

Printed Denim
By far my favourite piece from the whole day, these jeans are floral printed denim and perfect for Spring/Summer

Embellishment
From lace adorned denim to studded jeans, the collections were all heavily embellished with interesting design flourishes. I love the black dress from the Idol collection with the metal ring detail, it reminds me of Christopher Kane's MA collection - a definite must have.

Accessories
The accessories varied to match the collections, whilst there were studs and sequins on some bags, others featured more intricate leather work and lighter colours.

Dogs In Vogue

Judith Watt launched her latest book 'Dogs In Vogue' in London last week - I cannot describe how much I love the idea behind this, dogs + fashion = my favourite things ever!

Anyway, lots of celebs turned up to the launch with their pooches (of course!) at James Purdey and Sons on Mount Street - which is near the Marc Jacobs shops in London's expensive Mayfair fact fans.

The book itself is a tribute to the dogs that have featured in Vogue over the years, Watt is a tutor at Central Saint Martins and chose to support Guide Dogs for the Blind to mark the launch of her book. She got in touch with friends and designers (most of her friends seem to be designers, luck) to create a limited range of t-shirts featuring the designer's favourite dogs, those involved include Christopher Kane, Erdem and Richard Nicoll.

You can buy the tees for £20 from John Lewis, all of them are white cotton and bias cut, all profits go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

In case you are interested, guests at the launch party were served mulled wine and winter pear juice, La Duree macaroons and petit fours, whilst their canine pals all left with a doggy goodie bag from pet food brand CESAR.

AnOther LOVES

AnOther magazine have launched a really great new blog called AnOther Loves "a dynamic platform bursting with luxury product recommendations hand picked for you by AnOther's global network". They call it a 'daily edit' which the magazine love to share.

Such a good idea, but then what do you expect from one of the most creative magazine teams around. Recent posts include Rihanna wearing Dean Quinn, Bronze Bird Feet Candlesticks and the Maison Martin Margiela feather pen.

AnOther have also recently launched AnOther Reader which is a blog aggregator streaming all of the magazine's global network of contributor's favourite posts from their favourite blogs from the fashion, art, culture, design and everything else worlds. Who doesn't love Toppers, especially when they com up with great new ideas like the 'Dress Me Up' dress hire project with all proceeds going to Age Concern and Help The Aged. Flat boots for those rainy days

I'm a bit in love with my brown ankle boots, they have a small heel and a gold buckle more than that they are perfect for this horrid weather.

The See by Chloe boots are really special but everytime I see them I can't help but think that by putting some studded cuffs around your Doc Martens you can achieve the same effect. I have got some of these cuffs from eBay.
